Liverpool's summer transfer plans: The latest
Jan 1970

A fresh insight into the summer transfer plans of Premier League giants Liverpool has been provided late on Sunday evening.

The subject of potential incomings, of course, has long taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside.

This comes amid the widespread agreement that Jurgen Klopp's squad is in major need of reinforcement.

Owing to a disappointing campaign, set to culminate in Liverpool missing out on a top-4 berth, the powers that be at Anfield are expected to splash the cash, in a bid to close the gap on the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, an insight into precisely which areas of headmaster Klopp's ranks have emerged as a priority for reinforcement has been forthcoming.

The info comes courtesy of Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph, who points towards a minimum of four players being targeted.

Three, unsurprisingly, will come in midfield, ahead of the expiration of the contracts of all of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

A deal for Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, is already understood to be close.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are too seeking out reinforcements at the back, with at least one fresh face expected to be added to the Reds' defensive ranks.
